Job Description

Citadel’s Compute Engineering team is seeking a technically skilled Technical Lead to lead Compute initiatives. We are committed to staying at the forefront of technology by delivering world-class compute services that empower our business teams and ensure the seamless availability, security, and scalability of our infrastructure across a global landscape. We are currently seeking a seasoned Technical Lead to drive our compute engineering team, with a focus on Linux and virtualization platforms, while also preparing for containerized and cloud-native environments.  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Linux and Virtualization teams to deliver intent-based compute services to business teams. 
  • Collaborate with the Kubernetes team on compute platform-related projects. 
  • Develop and implement large-scale testing frameworks to accelerate image testing and streamline operations. 
  • Build scalable solutions for both Linux environments and virtualization platforms. 
  • Mentor system engineers to support their growth into strong software developers. 
  • Ensure infrastructure is robust and optimized across on-premises Linux servers. 
  • Work closely with senior leadership to shape technical strategy and prioritize projects. 
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of large-scale system development. 
  • Expertise in Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM). 
  • Strong hands-on experience developing automated testing frameworks for infrastructure management. 
  • Experience leading and mentoring technical teams. 
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization technologies is a strong advantage. 
  • Proficiency in Python or other programming languages for infrastructure. 
  • In-depth understanding of core networking principles such as TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise with infrastructure management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform). 
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Google Cloud and Azure. 
  • Prior experience with Red Hat OS upgrades and fleet management at scale. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into strategies. 

In accordance with New York City’s Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role is $105,000 to $300,000. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
