Post-Brexit Market Reform in the EU and UK

What’s the outlook for further reforms to the UK and EU financial services sector post-Brexit? Stephen Berger, Global Head of Government and Regulatory Policy, discusses the outlook for competition and innovation with Virginie Saade, Head of Government and Regulatory Policy for EMEA, and Donna Rix, General Counsel International.

As Donna explains, “While we’ve seen some divergence in terms of the rules sets between the UK and EU, we’ve actually seen quite a lot of convergence, as well, in various areas and top reform priorities for both the EU and the UK being the same.”

Virginie adds, “The dialogue seems to have resumed, which is actually very encouraging. There is discussion now between policymakers and regulators. From an industry perspective, it’s a very positive development because the message we deliver to one policymaker, whether they are in the EU or the UK, is exactly the same.”
